CACTUS CARE TIPS
Provide 4–6+ hours of direct sunlight, plant in fast-draining soil, and use pots with drainage holes. Water only when the soil is completely dry—generally every 1–2 weeks—and reduce watering significantly in winter. Avoid overwatering, as it causes root rot, and place them in temperatures between 60°F to 90°F.
Key Care Requirements:
Light: Cacti need bright, direct sunlight. A south or west-facing window is ideal.
Watering: Water thoroughly until water drains out of the pot, then wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again. In winter, they need very little water.
Soil: Use a specialized, well-draining cactus/succulent potting mix. You can improve drainage by adding grit, perlite, or pumice.
Potting: Always use pots with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Terracotta pots are ideal because they allow soil to breathe and dry faster.
